The BSO 5 STaR: Specialized Training and Resources Infographic was jointly developed and launched by a collaborative of organizations identified within the Behavioural Supports Ontario (BSO) Core Competency Curricula for dementia care. The Infographic outlines best practice core competency education programs that include BSO Foundations, PIECES TM , U-First®, GPA TM, and DementiAbility TM. These aligned and complementary programs are long-standing, evidence-informed, founded on the principles of Person-Centred and Emotional-Based Care, and evaluated for their impact. Developed in Canada, all have been implemented nationally and shown to be feasible, acceptable, and quickly and easily taken up into direct practice. The Infographic provides a concise overview of these complementary education programs, with the aim of assisting organizations in selecting established and credible education programs that build the capacity of care teams in providing holistic, personalized care to older individuals living with complexity.
